This Girl Can is a campaign designed to empower women to increase physical activity. The campaign uses images/videos of women of diverse body weights/shapes, ages and ethnicities being physically active, emphasizing body functionality. Check in–check out intervention for supporting pupils’ behaviour: effectiveness and feasibility in Finnish schools

Check In–Check Out (CICO) is a support programme for students with externalising problem behaviours. This study implemented in Finland is one of the first reports on the application of CICO in the European context. An experimental, multiple-baseline, single-case design is used to examine the effects of the CICO intervention on the problem behaviour and appropriate behaviour of three general education primary school pupils. The similarity of the observation data and the information provided in daily report card (DRC) are investigated to gauge the validity of the DRC assessments. The present study focuses on organizations delivering services to individuals with intellectual disability, where trust relations between professionals and family members are required. More specifically, we examine the existence of significant differences in the degree to which family members and professionals trust each other. Design and analysis of discrete choice experiments for models with response time

Settore SECS-S/02 - Statistica Per La Ricerca Sperimentale E TecnologicaA sector of conjoint analysis (experimental design in marketing research) is made of the so called choice experiments. In choice experiments respondents undergo a questionnaire which is nowadays mostly submitted through the internet. The questionnaire proposes to the respondent a sequence of choice sets each one including two or more profiles being a profile a specific combination of attribute levels. The respondent selects the preferred profile for each choice set. Responses given by a sample of respondents are analysed through suitable methods aimed to eventually find the best combination of attribute levels. One method of analysis adopts the Multinomial Logit (MLN) model. In this article the authors show the results of the MLN analysis compared with another model of analysis which uses an additional response which can be easily recorded by electronically submitted questionnaires. In practice modern survey platforms like “Qualtrics” (the one used for this work) can record the so called “response latency” i.e. the time taken by the respondent to make the choice and select the most preferred profile in the choice set. Thanks to a response latency model further refined in this work it is possible to deduce the relative weight of importance of the profiles for each choice set and respondent. This type of response can be used in place of the dichotomous choice variable in the MLN model. The two models and methods of analysis are deeply compared and it is critically discussed when it is better to use one or the other method. As a result a more reliable estimate of the optimal profile comes up implying lower risks for new investments and marketing decisions.

International audience; The laser beam weldability of acrylonitrile/butadiene/styrene (ABS) plates is determined by combining both experimental and theoretical aspects. In modeling the process, an optical model is used to determine how the laser beam is attenuated by the first material and to obtain the laser beam profile at the interface. Using this information as the input data to a thermal model, the evolution of the temperature field within the two components can be estimated. The aim of this study was the synthesis of a MIP (molecularly imprinted polymer) specific for a fungicide that is found in the majority of the french wine: iprodione. The challenge for extracting iprodione from wine medium was that the hydoralcoholic solution is a dipolar solvent, whereas the interaction between the MIP and iprodione is based on dipolar interactions. The first extraction study of iprodione was made on a MIP synthesized by bulk polymerization using methacrylamide and ethylene glycol dimethacrylate (EGDMA). Flavour release at the interfaces of stirred fruit yoghurt models

Abstract Model matrices consisting of a pectin and a dairy gel were investigated to study the transfer of flavour compounds between the different phases of stirred fruit yoghurt. Using a full factorial experimental design, different parameters (storage temperature, initial flavour concentration in the pectin gel and fat content of the dairy gel) were studied. The effects of message framing in CSR advertising on consumers’ emotions, attitudes, and behavioral intentions

While recent research on sustainability communication demonstrates the relevance of message framing, research on the effects of message framing on consumers' emotions is scant. Using the Stimulus-Organism-Response (5-0-R) framework, this paper examines the impact of environmental advertisements (stimuli) on two discrete emotions - hope and guilt - (organism) and how these emotions influence consumers' behavioral intentions (responses). Relying on the prospect theory, this study focuses on positive (gain) and negative (loss) frames.
